Fenix Outdoor North America has hired a footwear industry veteran, Steve Van Ruden, as sales director for its Hanwag brand. Based in Portland, he will report directly to John Walbrecht, chief executive of the North American subsidiary of Fenix. Van Ruden has been strategic account manager at Keen Footwear, among various former jobs. He also worked for Tsubo, Diesel Footwear, Dr. Martens and Mountrek Footwear. Fenix Outdoor N.A. has also named Robert Boland director of sales for Primus.
