Hannes Oehler has been appointed area manager for Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe at La Sportiva. He has replaced Luigi Tamai, who left in January to join Tecnica. Oehler is to report to Lorenzo Sani, who became La Sportiva's sales and marketing director last November, switching over from Montura. La Sportiva's former sales manager, Robert Demetz, left the company at the end of last year. Oehler was previously in charge of sales for Mountain Equipment (ME) in Austria, Italy and some Swiss cantons at Outdoor & Sports Company (OSC), the German subsidiary of the Bollin Group, which distributes ME as well as Bridgedale and other brands in Central Europe. The Austrian business of ME will be run by Thomas Holz who is OSC's sales rep in Bavaria. ME has also appointed three territorial agents who are already handling Bridgedale to cover the Italian market.
