Hilleberg the Tentmaker is recruiting a new European chief after Rolf Hilleberg let it be known that he wanted to hand over his job as managing director of the Swedish company. The son of Bo Hilleberg, who founded the family firm and remains its chairman, Rolf Hilleberg has been running the European arm of Hilleberg for the last 10 years. He has built up a strong and stable team that nearly doubled the company's European turnover in that decade. Hilleberg reached sales of about 63 million Swedish kronor (€7.0m-$8.8m) in 2011, which was an increase of some 5 percent, and nearly 80 percent of the sales are generated in Europe. Rolf Hilleberg wants to take a step back from running the daily business and set up other projects, but he will remain very much involved as a shareholder, board member and strategic adviser. Rolf's sister, Petra Hilleberg, runs the company's U.S. office, covering North America as well as Asia-Pacific. A full profile of this distinctive company will feature in our Swedish outdoor market report, to be introduced at the OutDoor fair.
