Icebreaker has appointed Carla Murphy as its new chief marketing and strategy officer. In this role she will be responsible for developing the brand's strategy, at a time when Icebreaker aims at growth both in and outside of its outdoor core market. Murphy was most recently vice president of the women's range at Amer Sports in the U.K., in charge of the development of the women's business for the outdoor and winter sports brands in Amer Sports' portfolio, including Arc'teryx, Atomic, Mavic and Salomon. She joined Amer Sports in 2013 as brand and creative director for Nikita. Prior to Amer Sports she worked for brands and agencies across various consumer sectors including sport, outdoor, lifestyle and grocery, gaining extensive experience in strategic and creative brand development. She will be based out of Icebreaker's headquarters in Auckland, New Zealand.
