Joe Flannery, the general manager of Marmot Mountain, is going to take on responsibility for ExOfficio as well, taking the place of Mark Martin who left at the end of last year after 21 years of service with Marmot. Flannery has been promoted by Newell Brands to senior vice president and general manager of technical apparel. Brian Thompson will remain general manager of ExOfficio but will report to Flannery, a former executive of Adidas and The North Face who started with Marmot in January 2016. In his new position, Flannery will report directly to Rich Wuerthele, chief executive of Newell Brands' Outdoor and Recreation Division. Marmot and ExOfficio were both part of Jarden Corporation's Outdoor Solutions segment. Newell Brands is the new company formed in April 2016 through the merger of Newell Rubbermaid and Jarden.
