John Are Lindstad is to relinquish his job as international sales manager at Fjällräven, the Swedish outdoor brand, to become chief executive at Mustad, the Norwegian fishing equipment specialist, from the start of April. Lindstad has held this job for about five years, along with two other functions as head of business to consumer sales and deputy chief executive for Fjällräven. He said the plan is to split his functions between three people: Thomas Gröger, country manager for Fjällräven Germany, should head up international sales for the brand; Gröger will share the function of deputy chief executive with Nathan Dopp, president of Fenix Outdoor in North America; and Anna van Aller, who is currently in charge of retailing for Fjällräven, will be taking over as head of business to consumer sales. Before his appointment at Fjällräven, Lindstad had already spent three years with the Fenix Outdoor group, the Swedish-based company that owns the brand, along with Hanwag, Primus and Brunton, and leading outdoor retail chains in Sweden, Finland and Germany. He switched from Sport 1, the Norwegian sports retailer, to become country manager for Fenix Outdoor in Norway. At Mustad he will be taking over from Ann Kristin Lund, the interim chief executive. Lindstad also has a seat on the board at Norspo, which he will relinquish when he switches to Mustad.
