Mads Hahnemann, 49, has assumed the responsibilities of Alex Nicolai as head of the sports business unit of Ecco, covering its athletic and outdoor shoes, but not its golf footwear. Hahnemann has been with the Danish group for 14 years, working in logistics, sales, business planning and product management. Prior to that, he worked for Hummel and Nicolai, who is 39-years old, left Ecco after seven years with company to join Lowa in Germany as the new man in charge of product development. At Lowa, Nicolai has taken the place of Heinz Feuerecker, who left the company last September. He had been working there since 1983 with the exception of a couple of years spent at Adidas.
