Vista Outdoor, the owner of several outdoor sports and recreation brands, including CamelBak, Bell and Giro, has added two independent members, Fran Philip and Lynn Utter, to its board of directors as part of the company’s ongoing corporate rejuvenation efforts.
Fran Philip was most recently chief merchandising officer for L. L. Bean. In a career spanning more than 35 years, she has held numerous executive positions in the specialty retail industry and served for 17 years as an independent director on several boards of public and private companies. Currently, she also serves on public boards at Vera Bradley and Coats Group.
Lynn Utter is chief talent officer of Atlas Holdings, a private investment firm specializing in transforming businesses into high-performance organizations. She also serves on public boards of WESCO International and Lincoln Financial Corporation. Utter is also a member of several non-profit organization boards, including the Henry Crown Fellowship Institute at Aspen Institute, the University of Texas and the United Way. Prior to joining Atlas, she was chief executive officer of First Source, LLC and president and chief operating officer of Knoll, Inc.
Vista Outdoor also announced the upcoming retirement of a current board member, former American Ambassador to Hungary, April Foley, who has been on the board since February 2015. Foley will continue to serve as a director and as a member of the board’s management development and compensation committee and the board’s nominating and governance committee.
