Ortlieb, the brand known for its waterproof bike and outdoor equipment made in Germany, has expanded its management team. Managing directors Hartmut Ortlieb and Jürgen Siegwarth were joined by former sales manager Martin Esslinger on Feb. 1. Esslinger has been with the company since 2016 and has gradually taken on more and more responsibility until this promotion. Before joining Ortlieb, he managed international sales at Uhlsport for more than five years. With Esslinger’s appointment to Ortlieb’s management team, the company intends to move forward, not only in challenging areas such as digitalization and automation but also in logistics, according to company founder Ortlieb. “We will continue to invest in Germany as our only production site, and with Martin Esslinger as CEO, we will successfully meet the challenges,” he added. Esslinger will be responsible for sales, logistics, trademark law and customer support. Siegwarth will be overseeing advertising, product management, digital and future fields. Ortlieb is in charge of technology and production for the Bavarian bike and outdoor specialist.
