Patrick Pons-de-Vier, who has been running the rather successful footwear segment of Amer Sports for the past nne years, catapulting Salomon to the second spot on our rugged outdoor footwear chart, has been promoted vice president of the Salomon brand. His former duties have been taken over by Jean-Marc Djian, formerly footwear marketing director for the group. Based in Annecy, France, Amer Sports' footwear platform has developed a tennis shoe for another Amer brand, Wilson, which has been launched for the current season.
