Pentland Brands has appointed Richard Newcombe brand president for Lacoste Footwear. He takes the place of Andy Simister, who left the company last October and is now working for Wolverine Worldwide (see the article in this issue). Newcombe has been in the footwear industry for 27 years. He joined Pentland in 2004, managing its private label business. He went on to act as brand president for Pentland's Ellesse brand in 2008 and then ran the company's Asian subsidiary from 2010 to July 2012, when he returned to the U.K. as executive board member in charge of global sales for the Lacoste footwear line.
