Scarpa has hired Marco De Gasperi as its new category manager for trail running. De Gasperi is an Italian mountain, sky and long-distance runner. He won his first World Mountain Running Championship in 1997, straight after winning the the same title as a junior in 1996. He then became world champion in mountain running in 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2007, European champion in mountain running in 2004 and European skyrunning champion in 2007. And this is only a sample of De Gapseri’s athletic achievements and records. De Gasperi’s recruitment is expected to strengthen Scarpa’s presence in the trail running segment. As an active athlete, De Gasperi was last sponsored by Hoka One One.
