Schöffel has assigned Patrick Schmollinger, 40, for the newly created position of sales manager for the company's core market, Germany. Before joining Schöffel, Schmollinger worked as strategic account manager buying groups at Puma Germany. Born in Germany but rooted in Austria, Schmollinger, former professional breaststroke swimmer, represented Austria at the Summer Olympics in Sydney in 2000. He has won national swimming championships in both Germany and Austria. Schmollinger started his business career at Speedo Germany, where he has worked as sales manager for Germany and Austria. As sales manager at Schöffel, Schmollinger will be responsible for the sustainable development of qualitative distribution chains and cooperation with local trade partners.
