Sympatex Technologies has appointed Derk Spingler, 42, as vice president for North America. He takes the place of Stephen Kerns, who has become the president of Schoeller Textil USA. Kerns replaces Tom Weinbender, who is leaving after working for Schoeller for 35 years, the last 21 at the head of its U.S. operations. Spingler founded and ran First Light Anglers for the last 18 years. Kerns has worked for Merrell, Braun/Gillette, Samsonite, Timberland and Tivoli Audio, covering roles of increasing responsibility.
