For the second time, Globetrotter has picked a brand as its “supplier of the year.” After Deuter secured the award for 2007, it was now Ortlieb’s turn. The specialty brand for high-end waterproof packs convinced Germany’s leading specialty outdoor retailer of its innovation, quality and reliability on deliveries, after-sales services, and others. Ortlieb and Globetrotter even developed together an eco-friendly Greenpeace collection of bags. To make it into the race for the “supplier of the year” award, the brands have to fulfill certain conditions: They must belong to the Top 100 suppliers of the retailer, should make more than €500,000 turnover at retail prices with the Hamburg-based company, and should have been part of the retailer’s offer with at least 10 products for two consecutive years.
