Garmin reported sales increases of 24 percent in the fitness segment to $298 million and of 14 percent in the outdoor segment to $363 million for its financial year ended last Dec. 31. The turnover in fitness would have been higher without the delayed shipment of the Forerunner 910XT system in time for the holiday season, but orders have been very strong and the company is expecting continuous growth through the launch of its Vector power meter and other unique offerings. In general, further progress in outdoor, fitness and the marine and aviation sectors should offset steady declines in personal navigation devices, bringing total revenues up to between $2.7 billion and $2.8 billion in 2012.
