Genfoot Marketing Europe, the German distributor of Kamik, is taking on the distribution of Aku as well in the country. This goes to the disadvantage of Trezeta which was sold through the same company in the region. The switch came, however, without any surprise as an old deal between Kamik and Trezeta on a global cooperation in terms of R&D and sales remained an unfulfilled dream. One specific idea of the former partners was to create a strong alliance especially designed for North America. Apparently, this common mission failed and the owners of Aku moved in to strike a deal with Kamik. As reported last summer, the Cook family, which controls Genfoot and its Kamik brand, sealed a joint venture with the Bordin family, owner of the Aku brand, providing for numerous synergies in sourcing and distribution.
