Hi-Tec, the U.K.-based outdoor and racquet sports company, has reinforced its international outdoor team with two high-profile appointments in newly created positions. While Hy Rosario has been heading up Hi-Tec’s global outdoor business almost by himself in the last few years, he will be backed up by a global product manager for outdoor lifestyle ranges, and another global manager for outdoor performance products. Simon Bryant switched from Clarks to steer the Hi-Tec outdoor lifestyle business. After several years at Camper, the Spanish footwear brand, Bryant dealt with casual and lifestyle product management at Clarks. On the outdoor performance side, the product management position will be filled by Marc Tucker, who spent many years in the outdoor business with such brands as Berghaus and Karrimor. He switches from the latter company, where he was accessories and apparel product manager. Both Tucker and Bryant will be based in the U.K. and report to Rosario. The appointments were a result of the expansion of Hi-Tec’s outdoor business, which has become its fastest-growing category.
