In a strategic move, Oberalp, parent company of Dynafit, Silvretta and Salewa, has taken over Pomoca, a leading Swiss manufacturer of skins for touring skis. The founding Dufour family will remain at the top of the operating business of the company, which was founded in 1933. Pomoca will remain an independent business unit, with its own manufacturing facilities in Switzerland, but Oberalp is going to try to build it up into a brand, thanks in part to new technical developments and more design and marketing input. Oberalp, which also has a big wholesale distribution business, raised its sales by 9 percent last year to €165 million.
