All of our readers are invited to attend the Outdoor Activity Days kick-off event on Zoom next week hosted by the It’s Great Out There Coalition.

The It’s Great Out There Coalition, founded in 2017 by the European Outdoor Group (EOG) and still strongly supported by the association, has grown into a large pan-European movement inspiring citizens to get active in the great outdoors. Through the #itsgreatouthere campaign, the coalition has both promoted participation in outdoor activities to the public and collaborated with European political institutions. In addition, #itsgreatoutthere has directly contributed to getting more people outdoors. Thousands of young people across Europe have benefited from grants that have supported grassroots projects.

On Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 12:00 to 12:45 CET, join Margo de Lange, It’s Great Out There Coalition’s policy officer, on Zoom for the launch of the #itsgreatoutthere Outdoor Activity Days, the next phase of this important initiative. The new approach will allow more businesses, other organizations and individuals to actively participate in the campaign. Crucially, it will deliver clear and measurable results highlighting the impact of each contribution, all closely aligned with the latest World Health Organization physical activity guidelines.

The launch event will also include details on how to apply in the next round of #itsgreatoutthere grants.

Speakers during the event include:

  • Jan Van Leeuwen, VP/GM The North Face EMEA and It’s Great Out There president
  • Andrew Denton, CEO Outdoor Industries Association (OIA) and It’s Great Out There secretary general
  • Margo de Lange, It’s Great Out There policy officer
  • Representatives from two projects that have benefited from #itsgreatoutthere grants - the Youth Adventure Trust and En Passant Par la Montagne
