Mark Held, secretary general of the European Outdoor Group (EOG), is a new member of the board of directors of the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF). According to Held, this Dutch-based lobbying group devoted to social fairness in the supply chain for textile and apparel products, wanted to achieve a more international representation. Therefore, Held replaces a representative of FGHS, the federation of the Dutch sporting goods industry, as the only trade association on the board of FWF. On the other hand, Held says that the EOG wanted to be on FWF's board because it involves many other stakeholders, including private companies, public bodies and non-profit associations, to cooperate in the pursuit of sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Other members of the board represent, among others, the Dutch government, various trade unions, Brot für Alle (Bread for all), a Swiss charity organization, and the Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC). The EOG representation on the board reflects also the fact that a wide range of international outdoor brands have joined FWF over the past few years. Current FWF members from the outdoor industry are, among others, Deuter, Haglöfs, Jack Wolfskin, KTC, Kjus, Maier Sports, Mammut, Mountain Force, Mountain Equipment, Odlo, Schöffel, Transa Backpacking and Vaude.
