Outdoor Sports Valley (OSV), the French trade association dedicated to outdoor sports, urges the French government to support the outdoor industry, which is threatened by the coronavirus crisis and the shutdown of ski resorts specific program. According to OSV, and as reported by sport-guide.com, the French outdoor industry expects revenues for the current season to drop by 50 percent. The recent decision by the government not to reopen ski resorts on Feb. 1 is making matters worse. The French outdoor industry employs 6,000 people across various companies of all sizes and represents combined revenues of around €4 billion. The ongoing closure of ski resorts has a major impact on tourism and the many suppliers upstream.
