Sporaltec, the sports innovation cluster in the Rhône-Alpes region of France, is asking for financial aid from the government to finance a €400,000 program for the industrialization of two ranges of technical apparel and footwear outdoor products that would be manufactured in France and marketed in the summer of 2015. A total of 14 firms, laboratories and institutions are involved in the project including Raidlight-Vertical. This company conducted a survey over the internet last August where 60 percent of the respondents said they felt that the origin of the product is an important element in purchase decisions. The survey also showed that 98 percent of the respondents would prefer to buy a French-made product if the price were the same, and that 83 percent would buy it even if it were 10 to 20 percent more expensive than an imported product.
