Lenzing, the Austrian manufacturer of fabrics, mainly known for its Tencel lawn, has posted satisfactory results for 2012. The amount of fabrics sold increased by 14 percent to 810,000 tons, which basically offsets the falling prices for fabrics which dropped by 12 percent on average for the Lenzing group. Nevertheless, total sales dipped by 2.3 percent to €2.09 billion for the entire group, whereas the earnings before interest, taxes and write-offs (Ebitda) fell by 25.3 percent to €358.7 million. Lenzing projects an increase in the sales of fabrics by 13.5 percent to 920,000 tons, while the sales in value are expected to rise to around €2.2 billion.
