New England Footwear, parent company of GoLite, plans to take some manufacturing back to the U.S. for some of its technical outdoor shoes. Doug Clark, who took over the brand from Timberland in 2008, is reportedly looking for funding to set up a $5 million factory in New Hampshire that would employ 400 workers and make two million pairs per year, using automated processes.
