Petzl has decided to invest $20 million to build a new 8,000-square-meter headquarters for its North American subsidiary at West Valley City, 10 minutes away from Salt Lake City's airport and close to public transportation. Using sustainable features, the complex will consist of 24,000 square feet of office space, 40,000 square feet for warehousing, and 15,000 square feet for a training area for climbers and rope-access professionals. It will have a 60-foot high indoor climbing structure for product testing and training. Space will be provided for employees to store their bicycles and to engage in physical workouts. Petzl America plans to move from its 14-year-old location in Clearfield, Utah, to the new complex in early 2014.
