Adidas Outdoor and Megmeister have teamed up on developing a new seamless base layer that is said to reduce the amount of waste created during the knitting process while being 96 percent biodegradable at the end of life. Megmeister is a Dutch cycling brand that claims to be “science-led and data-driven” and “to follow the approach to designing and producing the world’s most sustainable, most technical performance wear.”
The new Adidas Terrex x Megmeister Drynamo Merino ECO LS Crew Baselayer was created with Megmeister’s Drynamo™, a 100 percent seam-free warp knit construction technology using yarns designed especially for high-performance athletes. Megmeister says that the technology provides moisture-wicking and hypoallergenic qualities, combined with ultra-low weight and breathability. The new baselayer, designed by Adidas Terrex and available for men and women, has body-mapped targeted ventilation zones providing a comfortable fit, climate regulation and breathability. The Merino ECO LS Crew Baselayer won a Gold Award (Outdoor Apparel category) at this year’s ISPO Awards. It will officially be introduced at Ispo Munich Online on Feb. 1-5, together with other Drynamo concept styles.
