(Already published in the Asia issue) Wenger will halt the production of Swiss army knives at the end of this year. Victorinox, owner of the brand since 2005, will integrate 60 percent of Wenger's models and keep Wenger's production base in Delémont in Switzerland for its own use. Shareholders of Victorinox decided that the company should be concentrating on one brand of army knives. Wenger's subsidiary in the U.S. will be merged with Victorinox' subsidiary in Monroe, Connecticut. Like Sigg Switzerland, Wenger currently develops beverage bottles, made from stainless steel and polypropylene, which are to be added to the brand's product line from 2014. In October this year, Wenger will launch its first collection of stainless steel thermo beverage bottles. Wenger has produced beverage bottles made from aluminum since 2010.
