Brax, the German apparel brand specializing in pants, is moving into the outdoor market with Brax Active, a functional range that will be launched next year in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Benelux countries. The privately owned company, which reached a turnover in the range of €250 million last year, already has a golf range with annual sales of about €8 million, which has enabled it to gain insights into technical fabrics for sports apparel. Brax dabbled in outdoor apparel for a few years, when it supplied a small range for Globetrotter, but this partnership came to an end three years ago. Targeted at specialist outdoor retailers, Brax Active features technical pants, shirts and base layers. The range is led by Kevin Lücht, adding to his responsibilities as product manager for the Brax golf range. The company predicts that the turnover of Brax Active will outgrow sales of its golf apparel in about five years.
