GE has announced that Rab will launch GE's new eVent DVL technology and fabrics at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market on August 2-5 Salt Lake City, for introduction to the market in its spring 2013 line. Rab, headquartered in the U.K., produces outdoor apparel for extreme conditions. eVent DVL (direct venting lite) waterproof fabric is a new technology engineered for lightweight rainwear for outdoor and aerobic activities. The new fabric is an unlined laminate that features a protective print applied onto eVent's proprietary waterproof ePTFE membrane. The print provides a protective screen for the membrane and the membrane technology, and with its millions of tiny pores, allows “direct venting” of the body heat, while remaining waterproof from the outside. Rab has featured eVent fabrics in its apparel since 2002 and uses the fabric in a wide range of products including jackets, hats, pants, gloves, and bivouac bags and high-end mountaineering tents.
