Despite an early end to the last winter season due to the Corona outbreak, the Austrian ski brand Kästle has reported that it could continue the growth of previous years and sell nearly as many skis as in 2019. However, the brand did not disclose any numbers. Kästle’s CEO, Alexander Lotschak, said: “Our goal was to get through 2020 with only a single-digit drop in volume. We almost succeeded in doing so, although, of course, it may not have looked like that in the spring.” According to Lotschak, reasons for this satisfying result include the broad product range in the alpine – including freeride and tour – and Nordic segments and consumer confidence in the brand. With new models in the touring and cross-country segments, the enormous increase in demand in these two segments during the pandemic was well served.

XP 20 Maloja Edition

For 2021/22, Kästle remains true to its growth strategy. As seen in the company’s brand room at ISPO Munich Online, the alpine race collection was expanded, as was the freeride line. In the touring segment, there will be a new line called TX Up. The women’s Vogue line has been refreshed. For cross-country skiers, there is both a new classic and a new skate model. The revamped classic construction is Kästle’s most powerful and fastest ever, the brand says. The XP20 allround models have been updated, and Kästle is also launching a limited edition, the XP20 Maloja Edition, in collaboration with the German clothing brand Maloja.
