To help brands and consumers select and diversify its products, Mips, the Swedish provider of the eponymous helmet safety technology, has introduced a new product range to better define its helmet safety products and classify them according to their intended use. All future Mips-equipped helmets will be branded with the new product class and feature a new hangtag designed to inform and educate consumers about the technology.
Instead of the previous classification by category of use (Sports, Moto and Industrial Safety), the new and simplified product range consists of five classes: Mips Essential, Mips Evolve, Mips Elevate, Mips Integra and Mips Air. Mips expects that this more specific approach to defining its products will provide guidance to brands and consumers, helping anyone looking to purchase a helmet to choose the one best suited to their needs without compromising on safety.
In the past, Mips has been a B2B-focused company; the updated product range and classification is another step towards a consumer-focused brand identity.
