Nike’s ACG (All Conditions Gear) line for this winter will feature some bold new looks, including the new Nike ACG Mountain Fly Gore-Tex, which Nike calls an “adventure-ready outdoor shoe.” The shoe’s extravagant look is defined by its high-cut Gore-Tex fabric upper, paired with a bootie designed to keep debris out of the shoe. According to Nike, the shoe borrows several notable elements of the Nike Next% system, including the carbon fiber plate and comfort-focused and energy-returning Nike React foam cushioning. Additionally, the shoe comes with a waffle pattern outsole and multi-directional traction designed to take on rocky terrain.
Aside from this and a winter colorway update to the Nike ACG Air Nasu Gore-Tex, Nike will also deliver a new ACG apparel collection of which 85 percent of the pieces contain more than 90 percent recycled content. The latest collection is designed as a versatile layering system, and its inspiration is derived from Smith Rock, the volcanic structure and climbing mecca located in central Oregon. All the pieces are named after Smith Rock’s trails, and rock shadings from the area served as graphic inspiration.
