PrimaLoft has developed a new thin textile platform, called PrimaLoft Next, that insulates and breathes without being bulky, with an expanded color palette. It pairs with shell and liner fabrics and is suitable for next-to-skin and standalone applications. The platform's first collection is the Evolve Series, designed to mimic animal fur. The series' fibers vary in length and thickness to “create highs and lows,” promoting airflow in motion and trapping air at rest. According to PrimaLoft, the resulting thermoregulation is similar to that of multiple layers. It is also available with 58 to 71 percent post-consumer recycled content. Moreover, according to the company, the polyester in Next can be chemically recycled and fed back into a circular system. Schöffel, the German outdoor brand, will be incorporating the Evolve Series into its products for its summer 2020 collection.
