Quechua, the outdoor brand of Décathlon, is preparing the launch of its own smartphone and its own tablet for outdoor enthusiasts in France, Spain and possibly other countries carrying retail prices of about €230 and €280, respectively. According to press reports that the retailer declined to confirm before a presentation in Paris later this month, the two devices will have special features that will make them resistant to shocks, water and dirt. They will also have long-lasting batteries. The smartphone will have an Android 4.1 operating system, a memory of 16 gigabytes and a five-inch screen as well as an 8-megapixel camera. It will be supplied by another French company, Archos, that showed it at a fair last September.
