Shortly after the highly publicized product recalls for ABS avalanche balls and the via ferrata sets of various climbing brands, another outdoor-related product is now subject to a recall. Migros, the big Swiss retail cooperative, is warning customers about the potential safety hahzards of a black snowshoe sold in its SportXX chain. The item is called Snowstar I and was sold between October and December last year. The company says the shoe has an ill-fated construction that may lead it to break under certain circumstances. Customers can turn in the Snowstar I at SportXX outlets. The retail price of 99.80 Swiss francs will be refunded. The retailer confirmed that the merchandise was not purchased from one of the well-known brands in the category, but was sourced directly from the original manufacturer in the Far East.
