Woolrich has signed a global licensing agreement with Portland Product Werks (PPW) to launch its first footwear line in the autumn of 2014. PWR is a new company founded last year by Sean Beers and Carl Blakeslee, who have worked for Nike, Columbia Sportswear, Sorel and Korkers. Several styles will be entirely made in the U.S. The collection will include some slippers and will use wool produced in the historic Woolrich Mill in Woolrich, Pennsylvania, the longest continuously running wool mill in the country. The models will feature iconic Woolrich patterns such as its Buffalo check. The collection will be presented at FFANY, the shoe show in New York, on Dec. 4-6. It will also be on display at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City next Jan. 22-25, and at Project in Las Vegas on Feb. 18-20.
