Reinhold Messner, the famed Italian mountaineer and author about his outdoor experiences, will be the keynote speaker at the Outdoor Inspiration Awards at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in January. The awards, organized by the Outdoor Industry Association and sponsored by Adidas Outdoor, go to groups, companies and individuals who inspire others to appreciate and participate in the outdoors. The ceremony will be held the evening of Jan. 21. Nominations for a person, group or company are being accepted until Dec. 27, and a panel of outdoor business and community leaders will choose the winners.
