Bergans of Norway will open a new brand store in the Norwegian city of Trondheim. Anett Kolstad, the brand’s retail director, said that she has been looking for a vacant retail space in the city for quite some time and has now found what she says is “the perfect venue” at Nordre gate 12. The store will offer almost 370 square meters of retail space. At a time when many stores are experiencing fierce competition from online shopping, Bergans still sees the importance of physical presence. “Our brick-and-mortar stores provide proximity to the brand that is difficult to create digitally. This store will be Bergans’ home in Trondheim. Here, you will be inspired to get out on a trip, get first-class product knowledge and of course find the city’s widest Bergans selection,” Kolstad said.
In recent years, Bergans has been a driving force for circular services in its industry. It has invested heavily in product repair, returns and second-hand sales, redesign and product rental. The store in Trondheim will offer rental and sale of used and redesigned products. Also, it will accept products for repair.
In its home country, Bergans already runs a flagship store in Oslo and brand stores in Bergen, Tromsø and at Storsenter, a large shopping mall in the town of Ski. Bergans also has three outlet stores in Norway, one in Sweden and one in Germany. The new store in Trondheim is expected to open in August.
