HDE, the federation of German retailers, has awarded Globetrotter the prize for “Store of the Year” in the “off-line” category. The prize goes to the chain's big store in Munich, which opened one year ago. The four-storey shop has a selling surface of 6,500 square meters and features various attractions such as a geyser, a small pond to test kayaks, a climbing wall, and chambers to test gear under extremely cold and/or rainy conditions. Globetrotter won the same award in 2007 for its store in Cologne, which was new at the time.
