A new Salewa brand store will open in the Austrian city of Graz on Dec. 11. The South Tyrolean mountaineering sports brand, part of the Oberalp Group, is opening its latest flagship store on 85 square meters in the center of the Styrian capital in a historic country house at Herrengasse 16. Dec.11 is also the date of the International Mountain Day 2020. On this occasion created by the UN, Salewa will donate €1 to the local section of the Austrian Alpine Club for every product sold in the new store between Dec. 11 and 31, thus supporting the preservation of the natural and living environment of the mountains around Graz. “We don’t just want to sell products in Graz,” explains Stefan Rainer, CSO of the Oberalp Group. “As a family business, our aim is rather to offer the local mountaineering community a new place to meet and mingle and to meet their needs in the best possible way. Physical stores in a digital world are still best suited for this.”
