Schoeller, the Swiss textile technology company, introduces Inzectic, a finish applied to the outside of apparel that paralyzes and kills bugs. It can prevent bites from such disease-carrying species as ticks and mosquitoes. Schoeller said that since the finish is put on the outside of the clothes, it won’t harm the skin. In addition, Inzectic has been tested by the Hohenstein Institute for toxicity, and the special binding system means the garments won’t display any biological activity or release any cytotoxic substances. Schoeller says that it lasts through several washes.
