Schöffel is happy and proud to announce that a member of its team of professional climbers, Ralf Dujmovits, is now Germany’s first person ever to have climbed 14 mountains higher than 8,000 meters. In May, he was standing on Mount Lhotse with his wife, Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner, along with Hiro Takeuchi and David Göttler. Dujmovits commented on his success by stating that his 1992 Mount Everest climb should not be counted because he was using additional oxygen then. He is going to climb Everest again – this time without the oxygen. With Lhotse, Kaltenbrunner, another Schöffel contractee, is now the second woman ever who has climbed 12 mountains higher than 8,000 meters next to Edurne Pasaban, the Spanish alpinist. She is now planning an expedition to the top of K2.
