Some suppliers of outdoor products view the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in 2010, a jubilee year that tends to attract much bigger crowds from all over the world, as a great opportunity to promote their brands. Chiruca will be an official sponsor of the pilgrimage, joining the likes of Banco Santander and other large corporate sponsors. The Spanish company will launch a specific shoe and an international marketing campaign around the event early next year. At the request of some German retailers, Tatonka has introduced two backpacks specifically designed for the pilgrims going on the road to Santiago.
