The EOG Association for Conservation chose its new president at its annual assembly last month, electing Holger Bismann to the top slot. Bismann, the managing director of Patagonia Europe, had been serving as interim president since January, when Topher Gaylord stepped down to move from Europe back to his native U.S. for a new job with VF Corporation. The association also chose two new board members: Didier Maclaine Pont, the chief executive of Bever Zwersport of the Netherlands; and Tomáš Skala, eco project manager for Rock Point of the Czech Republic. Since its foundation in 2006, the EOG-AfC has managed to raise funds worth more than €500,000 for conservation projects. At the association’s booth at the OutDoor show €11,000 was raised, not taking into account the individual initiatives of brands such as CamelBak, Nikwax and Vaude, which were collecting money at their booths to benefit EOG-AfC conservation projects. At the Nikwax booth, some €2,000 came in.
