The founders of Acai Activewear, a British brand of functional woman's apparel, have attracted a £350,000 (€405,281-$447,460) investment from Dow Schofield Watts Angels. It is the fourth investment made by this network of business angels. Joe and Kasia Bromley launched their brand of skinny trousers in 2016, and it has become popular with dog walkers, horse riders and other outdoor enthusiasts. The company is expected to hit £1 million (€1.2m-$1.3m) in sales this year. The two founders claim that they have a mailing list of over 30,000 customers, with a 36 percent repeat business rate. Kasia Bromley started the business after designing cycling wear. Her work revealed that outdoor brands typically take men's wear items and shrink them to fit women instead of designing functional clothing with women in mind.
