The Hohenstein Institute has opened a contact office in New Delhi in response to the demand for independent quality evaluations by Indian textile and clothing manufacturers and their European clients. This adds to Hohenstein’s existing offices in India in Mumbai and Tirupur. Besides marketing Hohenstein’s offerings in textile garment inspections, product certifications and onsite inspections, all three offices are the official contact locations for the International Oeko-Tex Association and will focus on the certification of textiles pursuant to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100. At their first-ever meeting in Beijing on Oct. 21, managers from Oeko-Tex discussed resolutions about a new version of the institute’s criteria catalog, which goes into effect in January.
