The Mammut Sports Group raised its sales by 18.4 percent to 70.6 million Swiss francs (€59.0m-$71.3m) for the first quarter, as reported by Conzzeta group under its sporting goods segment. Conzzeta as a whole saw its sales jump by 43.5 percent to CHF 430.6 million (€359.8m-$438.4m) for the three months, amounting to a rise of 27.5 percent in constant currencies. The group added that the order intake for capital goods moved up by 18.6 percent, with particular strength in the U.S. market. Conzzeta's operating margin (Ebit) reached more than 8 percent. The comparison with the year-ago period is muddled by the acquisition of Otto Bock Kunststoff, in the chemical specialties segment, last September. The group will publish its half-year results on Aug. 10.
