The NPD Group reports that U.S. sales of camping-related products such as coolers and hammocks have soared in the year until June, tying in with the requirements of outdoor consumers who increasingly seek the comforts of home for their outdoor experiences. This particularly applies to millennials, according to NPD. Sales of hammocks have more than doubled in dollars and units in the last two years, led by Eagles Nest Outfitters in terms of units, turnover and growth. Driven by the Yeti brand, cooler sales are on the rise as well, with increasing demand for more advanced products. Sales of hard-sided coolers, which make up more than 70 percent of cooler sales, jumped by 34 percent in dollars for the year until June, compared with 18 percent the previous year. Sales of soft-sided coolers more than trebled, while sales of thermal or insulated containers soared by 56 percent.
