The “other business” segment of Asics Corporation, which consists mainly of Haglöfs, recorded a sales increase of 4.8 percent in local currencies in the first nine months of the Japanese company's financial year, ended last Dec. 31. In terms of yen, segment sales rose by 31.5 percent to ¥7.9 billion (€56.9m-$77.4m), but the segment generated a loss of ¥406 million (€2.9m-$4.0m), mainly due to foreign exchange losses on purchasing costs.
